The basis for market approval in Qatar is an ICT Qatar certification.
An ICT Qatar certification is required for market approval of products with wireless technologies for the Kingdom of Qatar. The approval is granted by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) and is the basis for placing the products on the market in Qatar.
The ICT Qatar certification is a national certification scheme based on the requirements of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED). Test results and certificates that have already been issued for CE marking are accepted by the authority and can be reused for the ICT Qatar certification. This means that no local tests in a local laboratory are necessary, and the same applies to the involvement of a local representative.
The certification is permanently valid according to the specifications of the authority and manufacturers have to plan between four and six weeks for an approval. After successful approval by the authority, the manufacturer is obliged to label the product. If the approval is based on the RED, the manufacturer has the option of using the CE mark as an approval label for a market launch in Qatar.
We as CETECOM can carry out all necessary tests based on the RED for an ICT Qatar certification in our laboratories and then coordinate the entire certification process with the authorities in Qatar. Our experienced certification team will take care of the complete project management for you, ensuring an efficient certification process and rapid approval for the Qatari market.
On our website you will find more information about our product testing and certification services. Further information on the requirements for an ICT Qatar certification can be found on our information page on market approval for Qatar. These and further details on many other approval regimes can also be found in our certification database CETECOM CERT.
