A CMC certification is the basis for market approval in Iraq.
Independent certification issued by the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission (CMC) is required for market approval of products with radio technologies for Iraq.
The CMC certification is a national certification scheme based on the Radio Equipment Directive (RED). Test results and certificates that have already been issued for CE Marking are accepted by the authority and can be reused for CMC certification. Accordingly, no local tests in a local laboratory are necessary, and the same applies to the involvement of a local representative.
The certification is valid for one year according to the specifications of the authority, after which a manufacturer must also recertify an unchanged product. A manufacturer must plan between six and ten weeks for both initial certification and recertification. Contrary to many other certification schemes, a CMC certification for market approval in Iraq does not require the use of a special certification label.
We as CETECOM can carry out all necessary tests based on the RED for a CMC certification in our laboratories and then coordinate the entire certification process with the authorities in Iraq. Our experienced certification team will handle the entire project for you, ensuring an efficient certification process and rapid approval for the Iraqi market.
On our website you will find more information about our product testing and certification services. Further information on the requirements for an CMC certification as well as many other approval regimes can be found in our certification database CETECOM CERT.
