Over-the-Air performance testing for large form factor devices

Within our EMC chambers, we are offering over-the-air performance testing for large form factor devices, such as cars, with a focus on near horizon data.

The test procedures relate to different use cases for mobile phones in the car, e.g.:

• Mobile station close to gear stick.
• Mobile station under the driver seat (as one of a several potential positions for an eCall system with an embedded fall back antenna).

During the testing, we run the measurements on the fly while getting turn table position and spectrum analyzer marker reading with time stamp to align the data in a post processing to gather data for both polarizations to receive a 3D data set at the end. This method is fast and keeps the effort and cost in a reasonable range.
