This process describes a milestone in the development for the V2X market.

Since 2014, CETECOM has offered regulatory testing services for devices intended to be used as an on-board unit (OBU) in cars or roadside units (RSU). Those devices are used to establish a car to car or car to infrastructure communication and are operating in a 6 GHz band.

We are delighted to announce that we just completed the regulatory testing according to the Radio Equipment Directive for one of the first vehicle-to-everything (V2X) devices using the LTE signal type in the 6 GHz band. Featuring the  Qualcomm® 9150 C-V2X platform, the certified module – developed and manufactured by WNC – passed multiple test requirements according to the Radio Equipment Directive while using the direct LTE sidelink band 47 PC5 (or device-to-device communication).  The 9150 C-V2X Platform is a product of Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated.

As the modern LTE version features a sidelink communication to establish a connection without a base station involved, this certification describes a milestone in the development for the V2X market.

We are proud to be one of the first laboratories to successfully complete the regulatory testing process for such a V2X device based on cellular technology. This further reaffirms our expertise as an ideal approval partner for the automotive industry.
