Opening of the new band entails new test requirements.
Thailand

The Thai National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) recently announced that LTE Band 28 has been opened for use.

The standard test continues to be NBTC TS 1027-2560, while the opening of the band requires the submission of a radio test report and SAR/EMF test report for LTE band 28 for type approval of WWAN products. This regulation has been in force since September 16, 2019.

This means that the following mobile radio bands are currently available for use by manufacturers in Thailand:

  • GSM 900, 1800
  • WCDMA B 1, 3, 5, 8
  • LTE B 1, 3, 5, 8, 40, 28
