Singapore – New cybersecurity guidelines for cellular devices
A market approval for radio products in Singapore is granted by the governmental authority Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and is a necessity for the marketing of products in Singapore.
The IMDA and the Telecommunications Standards Advisory Committee (TSAC) issued IMDA TS CD-SEC, known as “Security Requirements to Guard against Network Storms for Cellular devices”.
The new specification defines the minimum technical security requirements for the design and management of cellular devices in Singapore with focus on ensuring the safeguarding communication networks from any potential security threats.
The security requirements as issued in the IMDA TS CD-SEC are covering:
- Controlled Access
- Secure over-the-air (OTA) update
- Guarding against network storms
