The new version of DIN EN IEC 61800-3:2024-04 is now available in our laboratory. We can conduct tests in accordance with this latest standard and offer these services accredited.

DIN EN IEC 61800-3 is an international standard that outlines the requirements and testing methods for the electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of variable speed electrical drive systems and their control systems. This standard is of great importance for manufacturers and users of drive systems in order to ensure the safety and performance of their products.

Key changes compared to the previous version include:

  • Expanded scope of application:
The standard now applies to machine tools with one or more inserted PDS (Power Drive Systems).
  • Broadened frequency range:
The radiated emissions immunity test has been extended to 6 GHz.
  • Updates:
General updates have been made to both the normative part and the informative annexes.

A significant aspect for our customers is the updated interference immunity test, which is now required up to 6 GHz (previously only up to 2.7 GHz). This extension means a more comprehensive testing process, which we are pleased to offer to our project partners.
