EMC tests according to the new EN IEC 61326-1:2021
In an EMC test, the so-called interference immunity and the emitted interference of devices are tested. Because international legislators specify a wide range of limit values for the immunity to interference and emitted interference of technical devices, EMC tests are essential for their market launch.
With the introduction of the new standard EN IEC 61326-1:2021, the specifications for EMC tests for electrical measuring and test equipment, electrical control equipment and electrical laboratory equipment have been updated for use in Europe.
What does the change to EN IEC 61326-1:2021 mean?
The standard published in 2021 replaces the 2012 edition of EN 61326-1 and applies to the following equipment:
- electrical measuring and test equipment
- electrical regulating and control equipment
- electrical laboratory equipment
In the course of updating these EMC requirements, the test levels of the immunity measurements and their evaluation criteria have been adapted, and the test setup for floor-standing devices with external lines has been updated. As part of the tests, radiated immunity is now tested up to a frequency of 6 GHz in accordance with the new requirements of 61326-1:2021, and the levels for measurements in the frequency range above 1.4 GHz must be 3V/m.
Our EMC laboratories are equipped with high quality measurement equipment to perform various EMC tests according to the latest specifications and standards. Manufacturers can therefore also perform EMC tests according to the currently valid standard EN IEC 61326-1:2021 in our EMC laboratory.
