The type approval process for radio products in Yemen has changed significantly due to the current political situation.
Currently, two separate authorities are responsible for certification:

• Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MTIT) – Sana’a

• Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MTIT) – Aden

Both institutions operate independently and issue their own certificates for the regions under their control.

• In the regions administered by Aden, certificates have also been issued since early 2026; mandatory enforcement is expected in the near future.

• There is no mutual recognition of the certificates.
