CONATEL Authorizes 6 GHz Band for Wi-Fi 6E in Paraguay

New Regulations allow Wi-Fi 6E Devices to operate in the 5925-6425 MHz Range, expanding Connectivity Options

The National Telecommunications Commission of Paraguay (CONATEL) has officially granted authorization for the use of the 6 GHz frequency band for Wi-Fi 6E devices. With the publication of Resolución Directorio N° 1035/2025, the regulatory body approved low-power wireless access systems in the 5925-6425 MHz frequency range, marking an important step forward in improving wireless connectivity within the country.

However, the 6425-7125 MHz sub-band remains prohibited for Wi-Fi 6E in Paraguay. As a result, all Wi-Fi 6E devices must have this portion of the band disabled to comply with the new regulations.

Manufacturers and importers interested in adding Wi-Fi 6E capabilities to products already certified in Paraguay can apply for a partial amendment to their existing certificates. This process will allow companies to update their product approvals, provided they adhere to the new frequency restrictions.
