Since January 1, 2026, the new eCall Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/1871 applies to new eCall types and extensions. It requires conformity with the latest Next Generation (NG) eCall standards:

• EN 17240:2024 – eCall end-to-end conformance tests for IMS packet-switched systems
• EN 16072:2025 – Pan-European eCall operating requirements

EN 17184:2024 and EN 16072:2024 refer to the newly published Hybrid eCall test standard EN 18052:2025, which defines eCall end to end conformance tests for hybrid circuit switched/packet switched network environments (e.g. GSM and LTE networks).
