Transition period for EN 301 893 V1.8.1 officially ended on June 12, 2018.

With the introduction of the radio equipment directive (RED), a new standard covering 5 GHz Radio Local Area Network (RLAN) equipment – such as routers, mobile phones, tablets and computers – was introduced: EN 301 893 V2.1.1
This new standard applies to both new products and radio equipment previously conforming to the R&TTE Directive, if they are to be continued to be placed on the market within the European Union (EU). However, since there were problems with the adaptability requirements when introducing EN 301 893 V2.1.1, a transitional period was defined in which products could be tested according to the earlier R&TTE version V1.8.1 of EN 301 893.
This transition period ran out on June 12, 2018, which means devices using the 5 GHz RLAN technology need to be tested according to the EN 301 893 v.2.1.1 in order to get market access into the EU.
CETECOM is fully equipped and accredited to offer regulatory testing according to the EN 301 893 V2.1.1 in our laboratories and we are able to support you in getting EU market access for 5 GHz Radio Local Area Network (RLAN) equipment.
