CETECOM appointed Secretary of the CTIA Cybersecurity Certification Working Group

CETECOM’s CTIA Cybersecurity Certification Working Group delegate took on the role of secretary. With the achievement, we are able to better support the development of new cybersecurity test plan releases.
As the first laboratory worldwide, we have been reauthorized as a CTIA Certification Authorized Test Laboratory (ATL) for Version 1.2 of the CTIA Cybersecurity Certification Test Plan for IoT Devices. Our laboratories in Essen (Germany) and Milpitas (USA) and are authorized to provide testing for devices that need cybersecurity certification according to the latest requirements of CTIA.
The test plan and the related certification defines three levels. The first level identifies core IoT device security features and the second and third levels identify security elements of increasing device complexity, sophistication and manageability.
Testing assumes that the device provides an execution environment for IoT applications that makes use of the LTE or 5G communications module and/or the WLAN communications module. If the IoT application is not associated with at least one of these communications modules, then the device architecture is out of scope of the test plan.
This highlights our expertise in the field of cybersecurity and enables us to offer our customers not only various regulatory tests and approvals but also services for the IT security of the devices.
